Shoes Echuca

Welcome to Shoes Echuca!

Shoes Echuca is a website that I put together for people like me who are crazy about shoes in all their shapes and colours! I love shopping for shoes. I cannot go past a shoe shop without walking in to try on everything that catches my eye. I must have a different shoe for every dress I wear and for every occasion. In fact, I think I have more shoes than clothing!

I also like browsing online shoe stores and trust me, it can get really addictive. I found that I could easily check out the latest shoes and the price list, sitting in the comfort of my home instead of spending the whole day walking in and out of stores. Most of the online stores even offer free shipping. But although the choice is wider and I spent lesser time selecting the shoes I want, I was missing out on the pleasure of trying them on and walking around the store while the salesperson gives me some interesting tidbits about the shoes. So, I decided that I would continue to do both!

I must admit that branded shoes, although expensive, do look better and last longer. When it comes to athletic shoes, I have a good pair of Adidas Cross trainers, which I use in the gym and another pair of Nike running shoes meant exclusively for my morning jog. My mom though prefers MBT as she has some ligament issues and finds that her MBT walking shoes provides her with extra support.

For regular wear, I have several pairs of Birki sandals that are extremely comfortable especially when I am on my feet the whole day. I have a pair of Garda boots from Footprints which I love to wear and goes well with several of my outfits. It is the most comfortable boots that I have ever owned. If I get started on my collection of high heels, I won’t be able to stop! Although I saw Crocs advertised everywhere, I wasn’t interested at all until I laid my eyes on the Crocs Lady Espresso which completely bowled me over.

I guess you understand now why I wanted a website that could bring together all sorts of information on shoes under one roof. My searches online invariably take me to different sites that extol their own designs. I wanted to compile both positive and negative information on the latest brands, customer feedback, comments from fashion experts, a review of shoe stores in the city and other localities, and the advantages and disadvantages of shopping in a shoe store and of shopping on online stores.

I also thought it would be a good idea to collect some articles on why we need to wear comfortable shoes and the kind of foot problems that can come up by wearing poorly fitted shoes. I will also be putting up here several tips on correcting feet irregularities with suitable shoes.
I wanted to bring together as much information as I could gather on shoes in different sizes and shapes, for both men and women, and girls and boys. On different brands, and colours – beige black blue, orange pink purple, gold green grey, or just multi natural navy! Yes.. I do have shoes in all those colour combinations to match my outfits! I did say I was crazy about shoes, didn’t I? I am now saving up to buy an awesome pair of Marco Tozzi shoes.

You will find here several useful and informative articles on the types of designer shoes to buy and what to avoid, athletic shoes and casual athletic boots, links to authoritative sites on fashionable footwear, athletic shoes, casual shoes dress shoes, etc., and some information on foot care and home remedies for mild foot problems. Maybe, even videos on measuring shoe size and selecting socks.

Online Shoes Australia is essentially a website that aims to bring together all that you need to know about mens, womens, and childrens footwear, accessories, handbags, outdoor gear, etc. It will touch on various aspects of buying shoes. On how to find your correct shoe size, the best footwear stores, shoe care, online shoe shops, discount sales or clearance sale, a balanced view of shoe brands, and the best shoe shops, and even inside info on which shoes and accessories are preferred by celebrities!

Echuca Moama Shoe Store – Children’s Shoes

Buying clothes and shoes for children is so difficult as kids overgrow them easily and before you know it, you are out there shopping again and again!  But this is something you cannot avoid.  Buying the perfect fitting shoes for your children is very important as the wrong sized shoes could end up affecting your child’s posture for life.

In this section of Shoes Echuca, I have compiled some good articles with tips on buying shoes for your children.
Buying Shoes for Children, the Importance of Quality
By James Neo
Cast your mind back to childhood, and we are sure that one of your ‘not-so-fond’ memories will be of the Saturday afternoon trip to the shoe shop. Walking out with a pair of ‘sensible’ shoes, while those funky little pink numbers stayed on the shelf! At the time, a tantrum or two was probably the order of the day, but as you look back, you are probably thanking your parents for ensuring you wore a well-fitted pair of shoes, because you now know it is for that reason that you don’t have bunions, corns, a weird gait, or sore back. Nowadays the story is a little better for children, there are now many styles of shoe that fit both the ‘funky’ and the ‘sensible’ category at the same time.
Lelli Kelly shoes are the perfect example; they are made to the highest specifications in order to ensure that children who wear their shoes have healthy feet. The manufacturer guarantees that they meet the strictest of European regulation governing children’s footwear. Moreover, they come in a fantastic range of child-friendly designs, and children will be unaware they have left the store with the ‘sensible’ option – the ideas behind these concept shoes are ingenious and innovative.
There are several reasons why shoes must fit well, particularly concerning children’s feet; some problems that arise from wearing the wrong size shoes can affect a person for their entire lifetime! That is a long time to warrant not spending that little bit extra to make certain that shoes keep feet healthy and safe. Problems that can arise in adulthood due to ill-fitting shoes in childhood include bunions, hammertoe, knee problems, back and posture problems, in growing toenails, and various other deformities.
As you can now appreciate, the problem of ill-fitting shoes in childhood has a lifetime effect on the person. As parents, we all care immensely about the health of our child, yet sometimes we do not realise where we may go wrong. Concerning footwear, it is very easy to assume that, because feet grow so quickly in children, there is no point buying expensive shoes, however, a decent amount of money should be spent in order to avoid many more problems. On the surface, it may feel that you saved money but in the end, this will prove a false economy.
Lelli Kelly are perfect to this end, although prices can be a little steep, with this brand of footwear; you are ensuring the protection of your child’s health in general – a key concern to most parents. Never buy shoes that are too big for your child, in the belief ‘they will grow into them’. Because the bones in children’s feet are still relatively soft, if you put them in shoes that are too big, the movement of the feet because of the extra space will change the shape of the foot. It is false economy to scrimp when buying shoes for children.

12 Tips for Buying Shoes for Children
By Selene Marin
Footwear is one of the basic necessities of your child. But buying shoes for children is not a simple task because the wide array of choices and your kid’s impatience to try on different shoes make it all the more overwhelming.
Here are some tips to make shopping for children’s shoes less of nightmare and more of an enjoyable shopping endeavour:
1.    Shop for shoes later in the afternoon or evening because this is the time when the feet are more swollen.
2.    Look for a store that specializes in children’s footwear because they have a staff that are more patient and more well-versed in dealing with a squirming little kid. They will be able to give you better information regarding shoes and what is the right pair for your kid.
3.    Know what pair you’re looking for. Are you going to buy tennis shoes, sandals or kid’s cowboy boots? This will save you time and energy in looking for shoes.
4.    Bring toys for your kid or some healthy snack to munch on during shoe shopping so that your kid doesn’t easily get bored in your search for the best pair for him.
5.    Make sure that your kid fits the shoes to try them on for comfort. Kids will not last a long time with shoes that squishes their little toes. The length is not only the consideration but also the width and the weight of the shoes. Heavy or narrow shoes will also be pretty uncomfortable for your little one.
6.    Don’t overspend on kid’s shoes because at the rate of how fast a kid’s feet grows, it’s not wise to buy shoes that are too expensive.
7.    Add one half inch to your kid’s feet size and that’s the size of the shoes you should buy to give room for growth or for thick socks.
8.    And even though you’re tempted to buy big shoes for your kid because he’s growing up very fast, that is not a good idea because shoes that are too big may cause balance and foot problems for your child.
9.    Avoid buying shoes with heels but if you should ever need to buy a pair with heels, choose one that have snug fitting heels. Too tight heels cause discomfort, too loose may cause balance problems.
10.    Look for shoes that are made of breathable materials like leather. Shoes made of leather like boy’s cowboy boots are sturdier and will keep your kid’s feet always cool and dry.
11.    Make sure you opt for shoes with non-slippery soles those that have patterns or texture will provide traction and help avoid your kid from slipping.
12.    If you don’t have time or your kid really hates manual shoe-shopping, you can do it online. Be sure to opt for a reputable kid’s shoe dealers which has high quality boots for kids.
Indeed, shoe buying for your kid is a serious business that entails major effort to shop for pairs that are appropriate for your kid and that he will like.

Shoe Store Echuca – Feet Care

Taking good care of your feet is as important as buying well-fitted shoes.  On this page, Shoes Echuca brings to you several tips on how you can take care of your feet with minimum discomfort and in less time.
Many of us struggle with what we call ‘foot fatigue’.  To relieve foot fatigue, apply pressure with your thumbs on the bottom of your tired feet.  Then squeeze your big toe and all the other toes in sequence.   Look for any difference in feel on both feet and rotate your feet gently.
If you are struggling with feet odour and blisters, you need to give your feet a moisturizing scrub.  You will need a good foot scrub, a basin of hot water, a pumice stone, and some massage lotion.  Soak your feet in the hot water for five minutes and then apply the foot scrub.  Scrub all parts of your foot with the pumice, including the gaps between toes and the sole.   Rinse your feet with clean water and towel dry.  Then apply a moisturizing foot lotion all over the feet, rubbing it in gently until its fully absorbed.  Repeat this at least once a day for a week, followed by thrice a week.  When your feet are looking as good as new, you can taper it down to once a week.
Washing your feet regularly with an anti-bacterial soap combats foot odour like nothing else.  Most people tend to just shower and head out without paying much attention to their feet.  When drying after a shower, make sure your feet are completely dry.  Moisture is a breeding  ground for odour causing bacteria.  Use a good foot spray on your feet to keep it smelling clean and fresh all through the day.   Use only socks that are made of breathable material to allow air circulation for your toes.  Never wear shoes without socks and avoid wearing wet shoes.
Fungal infections are common in the toenails and if the infection is mild, you can easily cure it with some plain white vinegar.  If your toenail is thick, gently file it to make it easier for the vinegar to penetrate into the nail.  Apply the white vinegar to the affected toenail twice a day and allow it to dry naturally.  Use sterilized forceps to remove dead fungus from the toenail.
Heel spurs can turn very painful when the connecting tissue, plantar fascia, gets inflamed.  Orthotic inserts are known to help and should be used in all your footwear but it’s good to see a doctor and get it diagnosed properly.  If the pain is too much, giving your feet some rest will help in the short term although the pain is likely to return as soon as you put your foot down.  Stretching your calf muscles gently everyday will help reduce the pain.  Using an ice pack on the affected area is also helpful.  Change your shoes.  Get yourself a good pair that will offer good arch and mobility support.
Relax your feet periodically with a hot and cold soak.  Take two basins of water – one hot and the other cold.  Alternate dipping your feet in cold and hot water for a minute each time, repeating the process several times.  Then dry your feet with a towel and apply a moisturizing lotion.  Massage the lotion in until it’s absorbed completely.
After a day of standing and walking around, your tired feet could do with some soothing.  Lie facing down on your bed and place a pillow under the insteps of your feet  in such a way that the pillow supports your feet.  Rest in this position for thirty minutes preferably in a darkened room.  Not only will your feet feel refreshed, you will also feel rejuvenated.
Getting yourself the perfectly fitted shoe is the most important aspect of foot care.  Avoid wearing heels as much as possible.  If you have to wear heels, then select a good pair that is comfortable to walk in and offers good arch support.  If you like walking outdoors, get a pair of shoes that are specifically designed for outdoor walking.  Gym shoes are meant only for the gym.    Many people make the mistake of using the same pair of shoes on different terrains.
When you take care of your feet just the way you take care of the rest of your body, you will prevent a lot of unnecessary foot problems, and postural defects that can cause back pain, neck pain, etc.  Remember to keep your feet clean and odour free, and use the right shoes at all times, for healthy and beautiful looking feet.
